Official Statement from Aircraft Accident & Incident Investigation Office about the following occurrence:
Boeing B777-300ER Registration 9K-AOD Kuwait Airways
Collision with Stand 66 post at Kuwait International Airport Terminal 4
07 November 2025 at 0425 Local Time (0125 UTC).
The Aircraft Accident & Incident Investigation Office (AAIO) has commenced an investigation on the causes and contributing factors to this occurrence.
At the time of the occurrence there were 15 crew members and 286 passengers on board. The aircraft was pushed back for departure from Stand 77, destination Manila, Philippines. Due to a technical defect, the aircraft returned to the gate. The aircraft braked and stopped at the gate. However, shortly after, the aircraft began to roll forward, and it struck the Stand post. No persons on board sustained injuries.
This occurrence is under assessment. The objective of the investigation is to advance aviation safety. It is not the purpose of this investigation to apportion blame or criminal liability.
