Return plan of Domestic Workers from Abroad

The Council of Ministers reviewed, in its special session today, the recommendation of the Ministerial Committee for Corona Emergency concerning the proposed plan for the return of domestic workers, as the Council of Ministers listened to a visual presentation conducted by H.E. President of Directorate General of Civil Aviation Sheikh/ Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Homoud Al-Sabah, and the officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation about the details of the special procedures for the return of domestic workers from abroad under the compulsory quarantine system of two weeks period in accordance with health requirements in the State of Kuwait. The plan is divided into two main parts, the first technical part relates to travel and covers the procedures that begin from the point where the sponsor access the electronic platform "Belsalama" to insert the data requesting the return of the domestic worker from abroad to the State Kuwait, until the worker completes the exit procedures from the terminal at Kuwait International Airport, while the second part concerns the technical and financial matters pertaining to the quarantine procedures and the necessary services from the time the worker leaves Kuwait International Airport and transporting him/her to the health quarantine residence as well as all the logistical services for transportation, nutrition, provision of healthy housing and medical examinations mandatory according to the requirements of the Ministry of Health.

 

The presentation also covered the phases of the plan and the programming of countries. The Council of Ministers decided to mandate the concerned authorities to conclude fulfilment of the legal aspects and detailed procedures necessary to execute the plan in preparation for initiating its implementation as early as possible.

 

The Council of Ministers conveyed its earnest thanks and gratitude for the efforts exerted by the employees of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in coordination with the concerned authorities to prepare the plan for the return of domestic workers from abroad in accordance with the preventive requirements of the Ministry of Health.
