The General Directorate of civil aviation had been congratulated by the officials of the Arab and international civil aviation authorities and the international Civil Aviation organizations on the occasions of the General Admiration of civil aviation assessments of 78.8% of the effective implementation of the safety standards and recommendations issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). ENG. Shaheen Al Ghanim said that this project is a new achievement for the state of Kuwait. Where the regional average in the Middle East countries is about 70%while the global average is 65%. In a statement to KUNA, the ICAO is conducting a continuous monitoring methodology through the Global Safety Oversight Audit Program and assessing the effectiveness of the implementation of the elements required for the safety oversight system in the aviation safety sector in each country to the safety oversight system methodology to ensure that each state compels with the provisions of Chicago conversation. In fact, Al Ghanim noted that during the visit of the delegation of the international organization, he was briefed on the extant of Kuwait’s implementation of the standards and recommendations issued in this regard to determine the degree of compliance with the procedures and best practices in the field of aviation safety. Additionally, he mentioned that the audit process included the following areas such as: legislation and civil aviation regulation- aircraft operation- air worthiness- and employees leave and training. During the time from the 13th of November up to the 20th of the same month in average to the state of Kuwait in an effective implementation of SARPS by 78.18% compared to 53,87% in the previous year. Finally, he praised the efforts of all civil aviation official’s in general and safety management staff of the engineers pilots and staff as well as special who prepared the corrective action plan in the administration who were credited in this great jump and in specific time.
