242 Thousand Passengers at Kuwait International Airport during the National Holidays
The Directorate General of Civil
Aviation announced that the passengers’ traffic during the national holidays in
nine-days reached 242035 passengers distributed among 133541 departing and
108494 arriving to the country from and to Kuwait International Airport.
The Deputy Director-General for
Planning & Projects Affairs and the official spokesperson for the Directorate
General of Civil Aviation, Eng. Saad Al-Otaibi, explained in a press statement
that about 2281 flights were operated during the period from 24 February 2022 till
5 March 2022, distributed among 1140 departing flights and 1141 arriving
flights.
He added that the highest passenger
traffic on the National Day holiday in terms of destinations was to Istanbul,
Cairo, Dubai and Jeddah.
He affirmed the success of Civil Aviation
in all its operational sectors in implementing the national holidays plan
during the nine days, in collaboration with all governmental and
non-governmental bodies operating at Kuwait International Airport.
He pointed out that the travel
traffic of departing and arriving passengers proceeded according to the set plan
and in accordance with the new procedures approved by the Council of Ministers and
circulated to all airline companies operating at Kuwait International Airport.
