Civil Aviation” Signs a Contract with a Canadian Company for 10 Million Dollars
Directorate General
of Civil Aviation has signed a contract with the Canadian company (Intelcan
Technosystems Inc.) at a value of 3.170 Million Kuwaiti Dinars (nearly 10.1 Million
US. Dollars) for the design, supply and provision of training and maintenance
services, which in its entirety represent the implementation of Kuwait
International Airport development plan.
The contract
was signed on behalf of the “Civil Aviation” by H.E. President of Civil
Aviation Sheikh/ Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Homoud Al-Sabah, while it was
signed on behalf of the Canadian company by Mr./ Sami Al-Amer - Director
of Al-Muntaha Real Estate & Construction Contracting Company, as being the local
agent for the said company in Kuwait, in the presence of the Director-General
of Civil Aviation Eng./ Yousef Al-Fauzan.
The Civil Aviation
spokesperson, Eng./ Saad Al-Otaibi, said in a press statement on the
sideline of the signing ceremony that the agreement stipulates providing technical
support for the Automated Landing Assistance System (ILS) for the third runway,
as well as modernization and modification of the system's locations on the Eastern
runway at Kuwait International Airport.
Eng./ Al-Otaibi
stated that the execution period will be 550 days, and the project will be carried
out under the supervision of the international consultancy office H. RAF (DEERNS).
He indicated
that this project is deemed as part of a package of projects to be launched by
the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to operate the new third runway and improve
the systems of air-navigation and meteorology at Kuwait International Airport.
The project includes training Kuwaiti cadres on operating and maintaining the
system.
