Committee for Economic Impacts and Losses Concludes the Technical Study
The
honorable Council of Ministers mandated the Directorate General of Civil
Aviation to prepare a technical study on the economic impacts and losses
endured by the air-transport sector in the State of Kuwait.
Accordingly,
H.E. President of Civil Aviation Sheikh/ Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Homoud
Al-Sabah issued a decision to form a technical committee to prepare the
required study within 3 months and submit it to the competent authorities.
The
Technical Committee concluded the study that reviewed the magnitude of the
expected losses resulting from disruption of operation and drop of number of
passengers due to the precautionary measures undertaken to limit the spread and
beak out of Coronavirus.
For his
part, the Chairman of the Committee Eng. Saad Al-Otaibi presented the
details of the study, which concluded ten recommendations that would re-launch
the air-transport sector so as to contribute towards the economic recovery
process, provided that the procedures are to be phased until implementing a
safe and sound re-launch.
